The Great Fall

"The start of a new age"

Whenever you speak of the Great Fall you will always get mixed responses. Either they get a sorrowful look on their face and they start to reminisce about the past and happier times before the demonic creatures. Or a smile spreads across their lips, speaking about how they are finally free from the grip of those old tyrants. Whatever the case, it's a new world now.

The End of Gods

The Great fall marks the point where The Old Gods were defeated. This started during a massive battle where everyone brought all they could muster. Thousands upon thousands of men, creatures, Demons and gods clashed against one another. Yet in the end, the poorly organized troops of The Old Gods where defeated.   Panic took over Ecquamas, there was no one who could stop the demons now. It was their world now. The remaining gods either fled into hiding or tried to put up a last resistance. Yet any resistance was crushed and those who fled were hunted down. There are still people who think some of The Old Gods still live, though nobody knows for sure. The only that can be known for sure is that the Greater Demons now rule Ecquamas.   Now that the world belonged to them they could finally enjoy their winnings. And this lead Ecquamas into The Great Slaughter, where demon turned against demon. With the people of Ecquamas in the middle of the fighting.
People still theorize how the The Old Gods failed to combat the Demons. Sadly the demons destroyed much of the history about The Old Gods. Though this is the most accepted theory:     Even before The Demon Invasion there were already many who had distain for the Old Gods. Which was only expanded upon during the Invasion. The Gods themselves too didn't seem to get along with one another as well. And when the first waves of the Invasion got repelled they seemed to underestimate the demons.   A grave mistake as when the demons started to lick their wounds they managed to convince those who hated the Old Gods to join their side. Combined with the constant infighting and the clever tricks of the demons, it spelled doom for the previous rules of Ecquamas
