Introduction:

Athia is an ocean planet in the Dia system. It is the homeworld of the Banari, with their population on the planet numbering at 16.2 billion. While Athia is a perfect world for the banari, it has an incredibly harsh environment that poses many challenges for any other species attempting to live on it.

Description:

Athia's surface is almost entirely covered in shallow freshwater oceans, with an average depth of one kilometer. The surface is broken by thousands of small to medium sized islands, which house all the banari on the planet. While Athia's atmosphere is breathable by most species, the air is both hot and incredibly humid. This high humidity ensures that the banari can maintain moist skin, but also ensures other species without proper protection will overheat.
Although Athia orbits Dia in the habitable zone, the incredibly energetic star bombards Athia with an immensely high amount of radiation. All life on Athia has evolved to resist this, but extraterrestrial life has not.
