Detlev grew tired of House Cannith politics and left in disgrace, exiled to Q'barra.

After years of fighting for his project, Detlev grew tired of Guild politics and left in disgrace (but not defeated) for Q’barra in 985. He chose Q’barra as his place of exile firstly so he could use its abundant Dragonshards to continue his research, and also for its Cyre influences that reminded him of home. Moving was something he first did out of pragmatism, but upon arrival he found that working in the frontier communities surprisingly rewarding. Years of dealing with limited supplies made him uniquely capable of the challenging repair work in isolated, rural communities. Here was a hardworking people that finally appreciated his eccentric engineering style! Over time, he grew comfortable and his fervent weapon development slowed as he slid into his new role as the towns resident tinkerer.
