Thaliost

Thaliost is a large city in northern Thrane. It doesn't look like other cities in Thrane, architecturally it is closer to the style seen in Fairhaven. This is unsurprising, as before the Last War, it was a city in Aundair. Thrane captured it in 926 YK, and the Treaty of Thronehold confirmed it as a territory of Thrane.   The current governor of Thaliost is Archbishop Dariznu, an Aundairian and supporter of the Pure Flame. It is believed that his appointment as governor of the city was likely a concession by the Thranish government to ensure that Thaliost would accept the authority of Flamekeep. Dariznu has taken the beliefs of the Pure Flame to heart, and his approach to governance is harsh and unyielding.   The citizens of Thaliost are a bitter, divided and defeated people that largely still consider themselves to be Aundairian. Some of them have made plans to return to Aundair now that the war is over, whilst others accuse Aundair of abandoning them to the Thranes. Riots and small acts of disturbance are common occurrences, which Archbishop Dariznu brutally cracks down.   The White Arch Bridge used to connect Thaliost to Rekkenmark in Karrnath via the lightning rail, but the bridge hasn't been repaired since it was demolished by Karrnath in 899 YK.
