Elven Silencing

Written by Salen

During the eraly years of slavery, the orcs had to figure out how to subjugate a race of beings who could command the awesome power of the elements. Their first crude methods left a lot of the slave stock dead or dying, so it was a huge breakthrough when the Orc tracker grendyl found the Damphere Plant. This plant had properties that would help ensure the slaves survival and still keep them from casting magic.

How it Works

The elves must ask the elements to make their magic work, and the properties of this miraculous plant have silencing effects. When extracted and boiled, then refined to a certain point, the potion has the ability to render the vocal chords of those who drink it, useless. It paralyzes them and fuses them together, making sound impossible. It used to have a long term duration, having to be administrated every year to keep them dormant, yet in this day and age, the potion lasts forever when given to an infant.

Utility

The potion is used to render elven slaves mute for the rest of their very long lives. it has been talked about that after all these centuries the elves may not even know how to cast magic anymore, but the warlords won;t take that chance.

Manufacturing

The plant is harvested, then steamed. This breaks down the plants leaves and then they are boiled and extracted to form a potent liquid which is then mixed with some other chemicals to keep it from killing the elf. Over the centuries it has been refined enough so that it can be given to infants without much consequence. (1/200 babies dies)
Access & Availability
This is only available to the Slave Lords of the towers
Discovery
This potion and the science behind it was discovered by Grendyl the famous orc tracker. She had the forethought to venture into the forest and see what could be salvaged from the elven ruins therin. After figuring out what the leaves could do, she rushed it to the orc shamans and the rest is history.

Early Beginnings

During the Slavery of the lesser Races. and their early beginnings, the orcs would cut the tongues out of the elves so that they couldn't form the words necessary for magic. This led to mutilations and deaths as the elf would sometimes bleed out and /or hemorage. This new technology has replaced this so that the barbaric procedure lies in the distant past
