Rud Hayes
Rud Hayes is the brother and business partner of Andrew Hayes the tavern owner. He's a few years younger than Andrew and the brains behind the tavern's operation. He's a man in his early 30s, a bit quieter and reserved than his brother, but no less friendly.
Rud is the financial expert of the tavern, taking care of the books and making sure the tavern runs smoothly and profitably. He has a sharp mind for numbers and a talent for negotiation, He is the one responsible for keeping the tavern's expenses under control and finding new ways to increase revenue. He also keep the tavern licensed, insured and up to date with all the relevant laws.
Despite his quieter nature, Rud is equally passionate about the tavern as his brother and takes great pride in the family business. He might not be as outgoing as Andrew, but he has a great sense of humor and he's always willing to lend an ear to anyone who needs it. He is more of a behind the scenes person, but he's still involved in the day-to-day operations of the tavern.
Rud is always dressed neatly, usually in a button-up tunic and finely made pants. He has a serious and thoughtful expression, but that's just a facade, in reality he's a family-oriented and kind-hearted man. He's always happy to lend a hand when needed, be it to his customers or his staff. He values loyalty and hard work, which is reflected in the way he manages his employees. He is a great complement to his brother, bringing balance and stability to the business.
He is also an active member of the artisan's guild and a member of the town's council with Andrew Hayes. As a business owner and an expert in financial management, he has a leadership role within the guild, as the treasurer.
In his role as a member, Rud helps to set policies and procedures for the guild, work to promote the work of fellow members, negotiate better prices for raw materials and other supplies, and act as a liaison between the guild and other organizations or businesses.
He also participates in guild meetings and events, such as exhibitions, workshops, and competitions, where he may showcase his own work or help to organize and manage the event. He may also help train and mentor new members, sharing his knowledge and expertise with them.
Additionally, Rud serves as representative of the guild in the community, by participating in local fairs, markets, and festivals, to promote the work of the guild and its members and increase the visibility of their craftsmanship.
As he is a tavern owner, he also takes an active role in promoting the local brewing industry within the guild, encouraging collaboration between the guild's members and the local breweries, including his own, and organizing events that highlights the connections between brewing and artisanal crafts.

Andrew and Rud have been inseperable since their childhood.. The brothers took over the running of their father's tavern and inn when he grew old. They, however, started the brewery.
