Climbing is an AGI
(climbing) check. The table below assumes the use of a standard-quality climbing kit. There is a -2d6 penalty for climbing without equipment. Climbing kits are not magic - there may be situations when it is hard to use one.
If a character fails a
climbing check, they fail to make progress; but if they fail by two difficulty levels or more, they fall.
Climbing Task | Difficulty |
Knotted rope | 7 (no climbing kit required) |
Unknotted rope; Tree; Cliff with many handholds | 7 |
Wall with few handholds (brick, rock, etc.) | 13 |
Smooth wall; Ceiling or overhand with handholds | 16 |
Smooth, hard, slippery wall | 25 |
Falling Damage
A character who falls from a height takes 1d6 damage for every 3 m fallen and lands prone. A successful Challenging [13] AGI
(jumping or
acrobatics) check reduces the damage by 2d6 and lets the character land on their feet.
