Oparva
Geography
Oparva is the world's largest continent, stretching from the hills and plains of southern GSE, to the mountains of of the Altari peninsula, to the forests of Borduria, to the Mountains of Mayrdan, and to the coasts of Kashubia. The continent is divided into two regions, Middle and North Oparva. Middle Oparva has a more mild climate compared to its northern counterpart. It is by far the much more populated half. The hilly grasslands to the east in Reshubia and eastern GSE are excellent farmland, with the landscape dotted by tall, jagged mountain ranges. Western Middle Oparva is much more mountainous, with less flat land. Extensive coasts ring the landscape, but become hilly and mountainous farther inland. The soil is generally rocky, making farming difficult. Northern Oparva is home to very tall, dense forests of pine trees, which blanket much of the landscape. The Northernmost lands, in North Brunland and Mayrdan, are home to cold, windy tundras. Oparva overall has a very mild climate. Overall warm summers are common in the region, but the coldness of winter varies on how northward the land in question is. Rainfall is consistent in both seasons, but is heavier in mountain and coastal countries.
Natural Resources
Oparva has plentiful natural resources found across it. The Cartragie and Monte Altum mountain ranges are home to many rare minerals, such as iron ore, coal, gold, and gemstones. North Oparva is home to dense, tall pine tree forests, which is an excellent source of timber. The area is also home to oil, natural gas, and coal, which are important sources of fuel. Copper and tin veins are also found in the north, but smaller veins are also present in the Altari peninsula and the Sorcudoska Mountains. The Blachorn mountains have deposits bauxite, silver, and iron. The most common food resources are fish, in coastal countries, and grain corps. Middle Oparva, including the central GSE and the Tushubian countries, are excellent farming lands, with rich soil and plentiful rain, allowing for large crops such as corn, wheat, grains, oats, peas, potatoes, beans, tobacco, and rice. Cooler northern climates in areas north of the GSE are able to grow broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, turnips, lettuce, beets, and asparagus. The most common animal is the cow, but sheep and goats are also common, mostl being raised in northern and western nations with little fertile land for farming, as well as the GSE.
