Maelstrom Intelligence is a major operative agency that was founded in 2060. A subsidiary of Ziegler GmbH, the corporation is widely renowned as a top-five agency. The current CEO is Andrea Södergren, who was hired in 2061, shortly after the corporation was spun off from Ziegler GmbH. Maelstrom Intelligence is believed to have upwards of forty operative teams, each consisting of two to six individual operatives. Maelstrom has numerous contracts with government and corporate agencies around the world, and has an exclusive contract with Aegis Security to provide their intelligence.
Although a fairly new corporation, the funding brought by Ziegler GmbH gave Maelstrom Intelligence a significant boost to its ability to hire renowned operatives. Salaries are significantly higher in Maelstrom Intelligence than most other operative agencies, averaging over double the usual rate. Maelstrom also has access to significant hardware capabilities, either through Ziegler GmbH's own production, loans from Aegis Security, or Ziegler's contracts with nation governments, especially the European Union.
