Andrea Södergren

Anrea Södergren (born 2033) is a former member of European Special Operations Command, now the commanding officer of Maelstrom Intelligence. A no-nonsense woman, she has turned Maelstrom Intelligence into one of the largest Operative agencies in the world. She was born in Stockholm in 2033, and grew up in a relatively poor family. At the age of 18, she enlisted into the Swedish branch of the European military, quickly surpassing her peers and joining the European Special Operations Command. Although details of her service are classified, it is understood that she undertook several high-risk missions into both the Russian Federation and the Union of Latin American States, leading her team with zero casualties. She retired from EUSOC in the early 2060s, due to an offer from Ziegler GmbH to lead their newly-formed Operative agency, Maelstrom International.

Södergren has developed a reputation as a tough, no-nonsense leader among Operatives. She doesn't permit any deviation from her operating guidelines, and forces her Operatives to either shape up or ship out. Various conspiracy theorists on internet chat boards have begun rumours that Södergren is secretly a member of various neo-Nazi organisations, but Maelstrom International and Södergren herself have stated that these are efforts by rival organisations to slander her unjustly. In 2067, she successfully sued an American media outlet after it published these rumours. Södergren has stated that she was targeted by these attacks due to her blonde hair, blue eyes, and the general sexism of internet forums.
