Riverborough

Leoros the faithful of Faeya had always been a somewhat civic-minded sort, and one day in his twenty-third year he approached his superior in the Riverborough Temple of Faeya, Father Grigori, and asked if there was anything he could do to be of greater service.

Impressed with Leoros' initiative, he suggested that Leoros could be of great assistance if he aided the town in locating a source of stone. Riverborough had been a sleepy hamlet for many decades, but over the last twenty years had seen a great increase in its growth and wealth, and its ability to defend itself had not caught up; aside from a few more prominent buildings which incorporated a bit of fieldstone, virtually the entire town was constructed of wood. Concern among the townsfolk, and particularly the merchants guild, was growing quickly that Riverborough was looking like an increasingly tempting raid target.

Several days to the north-east of the town lay a region of foothills before a mountain range; none from the town had ventured that far in many years. There, it was believed, Leoros might find either a suitable quarry site that the town could exploit, or perhaps some other settlement or peoples that they might trade with for stone at prices cheaper than those offered by their current trade partners.

After securing equipment with the grateful help of the merchants guild, Leoros set out on his mission.
