Kal'Saik

Master of Fate, Keeper of the Sands

"The figure known as Kal'Saik is cloaked is legend and tale. Due to the nomadic nature of the Tilaxi tribes, virtually no written records exist from his lifetime. The Tilaxi would have you believe that he is the Master of Fate, and that all of us are beholden to his interpretations of destiny.... I prefer to believe my fate is in my own hands."
Alkhaz Dah'nakar
"Religions of the Lesser Races"

Kal'Saik was born under the Tseluda Empire during the Emerald Age. Kal'Saik was raised by the nomadic Tilaxi tribes, and as such very little was recorded about his early years. Primarily a human empire, the Tilaxi were treated as second-class citizens during that time, and this greatly shaped Kal'Saik's worldview. Kal'Saik believed that his people were destined for something greater, and that only together could they work to achieve that.
The War of the Dragonlords against the First Vraekar Empire broke out shortly after Kal'Saik reached adulthood, and it was here where he began to make his mark. The Tseluda Empire was quickly overrun by the dragonlords, and with their great cities burning, thousands of Tseludians were left destitute and starving. It was Kal'Saik who organized the first rescue of those citizens, and taught them how to survive in the wastes. It was this concerted effort, coordinated by Kal'Saik, that saved the Tseludians from extinction. It was this great effort that began to change local minds about Tilaxi, and they began to be accepted into wider society. While some prejudice against the Tilaxi still exists within the Razorwind Desert and the Tel'Shadar Desert, it is in the large minority. Kal'Saik was said to travel with an artifact known as the Sands of Fate, which was capable of divining the fate of any individual.
Kal'Saik died before he could see his dream brought to fruition, but his teachings live on. Kal'Saik preached that all of the races of Earedar were one people, and that only together could they achieve prosperity. He teaches that each individual is responsible for their own life and fate, and that only through preparation and vigilance can they be ready to seize the one moment in each individual's life where they have a chance for greatness. Kal'Saik ascended to divinity shortly after his death, and lives on as the epitome of all that the Tilaxi hope for themselves, and all that they strive to be.

Faiths, Cults and Organizations

Tilaxi- The Tilaxi venerate Kal'Saik as their ancestral leader, the Master of Fate and the one that led them out of the darkness and showed them the path. Tilaxi tradition teaches that it is the responsibility of each individual to prepare themselves for greatness, and that each person will be presented with one such moment in their life where they have the opportunity to achieve it. Without constant preparation and vigilance that call will pass unheeded, and that person is then considered a failure. Each Tilaxi is constantly drawing their own personal map of fate, and only upon their death will it be completed. Young Tilaxi often complete a pilgrimage across Earedar, seeking to learn as much as they possibly can, so they are prepared to meet their life's challenge when it appears.
