Who are you?

The year is 871EE (Early Era), the world is 5643 years old.

You were born a vigil. At some point in your long ancestry a member of your bloodline mated with a guardian angel. The celestial blood that runs through your veins has skipped many generations of your family until it awakened within you. As a vigil you are bound psychically and physically to someone, known as your ward. As a vigil with a ward, you feel their pain and stress as if it was your own. If your ward should die, then you too will perish. Do with this information as you wish.

You currently reside in the city of Echoes Rest, the capital of the County of Lond, on the North East peninsula of Eaqorius. You may have lived in Echoes Rest your entire life, or immigrated to the city after recent and successful invasion by King Gruzz The Black Dog. If you have lived in Echoes Rest your entire life, you have spent a year travelling, and have only recently returned.

Seeking to expand his otherwise small territory, King Gruzz sailed from Nightguard to Lond in the late winter months of 870EE, bringing a small but powerful army comprised of the largest civilised races - Goliaths, Orcs, Half Orcs and Human strongmen all of which hailing from Nightguard. With no real military to speak of, Coucilman Ergo of Echoes Rest forcefully conscripted all capable fighters but without proper training, Echoes Rest fell quickly and many lives were lost. Hearing tales of The Black Dog and his army of 'giants', the other towns in Lond surrendered to Gruzz. With most capable workers now dead or injured, Echoes Rest became a beacon of opportunity. Empty and abbandoned houses became free real estate. Overbearing supply was now lucritive demand. You may have taken the opportunity to open a new business yourself with a unique specialty.
