Personal history
When Ashtel first came to be known, he was a babe that washed up on the shores of Akadance. His appearance and resemblence to the chromatic dragons became a point of concern.
He was taken in and raised as a child of Akadance, albeit with much wariness and contempt from the islanders. Sarina, a silver dragonborn and temple worshipper of Bahamut, took him in and raised him.
As he grew to 5 years old he became greatly drawn to the volcano. Skipping school and duties to spend time swimming in the lava. One day, drawn by a power there he dove under the lava. His adopted parent, Sarina, witness his trip up the volcano and had followed him to see what he was doing that day. Horrified by him diving in the lava, she went in after him. Sarina's temple coworkers, concerned by her absence, sent a search party for to find her.
Ashtel was saved by Sarina who died pulling her adopted child from the clutches of drowning in lava. Her screams could be heard from the village below as she died in agony. When the rest of the island had caught up to look for Sarina and Ashtel who had seemingly been missing that day, all the found was the ashen corpse of Sarina and an unconscious Ashtel, who had passed out, unharmed, clutching a glowing red egg.
When he awakened and was questioned by the islanders, he become iratic and violent and tried to run. His eyes glowed with a blood red lava that the islanders had never seen. It was deemed that Ashtel was far to dangerous to be on the island, as rumours of the egg would quickly spread and could reignite the cult of the dragon.
He was banished to the open Tartarus prison in the hopes he would never find his way out - and the hopes the cult would never discover him either.
But Ashtel's egg hatched during his transport. The power of the egg exploded off the coast near the sands of Zluukga and destroyed the transport ship before it reached its destination.
Ashtel washed up, once again miraculously unharmed, on the shores of a new land with a dragon-like baby companion.
Ashtel became a brigand, a degenerate and a thug as a teenager growing up on the streets. He was kicked out from orphanage to orphanage until eventually, he was taken in when he was 13 by the temple to the goddess of love. There, he was finally educated by the high priestess, who was convinced it was her duty to teach love and to love Ashtel - a character who seemed unloveable and incapable of love.
In their capable care, Ashtel became a qualified desert guide and transport guard for merchants affiliated with the temple.
He became obsessed with wondering and exploring the desert and now strives to see the rest of the world - though cautious to avoid ever being discovered by those from Akadance. In case any remember what transpired there 25 years ago.
