The Sun Brazier

Origins

The Sun Brazier is a powerful magical object blessed by Goam-Tefo, a powerful deity among the Dragons. The Brazier has the power to look into distant lands, see possible futures, and peer into the hearts of Men.

The survivors of The Fires of Extinction badly needed help once they fled the North. They had no food, no shelter, and no idea how to survive in the wilderness. Goam-Tefo saw the refugees plight and took pity; thus, they gifted the Men their Fire to guide them back onto the path of life and prosperity. For decades, the Men fueled the fire and kept it burning until a powerful wizard Avrany enchanted a brazier to keep the fire burning forever.

Even with the limited resources of the time, the brazier was a masterpiece of patterned bronze shaped into a bowl almost half a meter in diameter, and sturdy enough to last centuries. In reverence, they placed the brazier on the top of Mount Emas, a holy mountain, and built the First temple around it. Here lie some of the first days of the Church of the Sun.

Stolen

In the events told in The Lost Mountain, the Brazier, the Temple, and the entirety of Mount Emas itself was stolen by the magicians and whisked away over the ocean, never to be seen again. However, the brazier was put to great use, helping the witches and wizards not only in their pursuit of magical achievement, but also in evading discovery and surviving alone in the open sky.

In the Third Age, the people of the Lost Mountain revealed themselves to the world, and became a prestigious university of the magical arts, sharing age-old wisdom and astounding feats of magical achievement.
