The Eight Immaterial Elements

The Eight Immaterial Elements are harder to understand, and sometimes go by different names.   In this realm, the Four Primary Immaterial Elements reflect the four aspects of creatures: Mind, Body, Spirit, and Heart. In other realms, it is said that these are Knowledge, Form, Life-force (or Health) and Intention (or Emotion).   The Four Secondary Immaterial Elements are even more abstract: Fusion, Dissolution, Order, and Chaos. Fusion is the Element of coming together, combining, and creation. Dissolution is the Element of coming apart, differentiating, dispersal and decay. Order is the predictable uniformity of things, and Chaos is the random surprise of things.   Note that Good and Evil are not primary elements. None of the Sixteen Elements are either good or bad, but just are how things are. For example, no matter how much imperial inquisitors complain about the Dissoluble Chaos of today’s rebellious youth, without those elements, Fire would not warm us on a freezing day nor light a path around us in the night.
