Psychoversion Physical / Metaphysical Law in E'er'all | World Anvil

Psychoversion

Psychoversion is the concept of a spectrum of personality dispositions ranging from Introversion to Extraversion.   In the game world of EveryAll Online, Psychoversion is the term used to describe how a character personality falls on the Introvert-Extrovert spectrum. This is a stat that appears on the player's character sheet.

Psychoverison Types

In the game, the stat is recoreded as a "Type". The following Types model this range:
  • Types 1, 2, and 3 are Introvert levels with Type 1 being a hermetic recluse.
  • Types 7, 8, and 9 are Extrovert levels with 9 being a constantly social butterfly.
  • Types 4, 5, and 6 are considered "Ambiverts" which are a little of both. Type 4 is slightly more introverted and Level 6 is slightly more extroverted.

Manifestation

In the game world, Psychoversion affects various aspects of gameplay.   Introverts require time alone away from noise and over-stimulation. Being in a setting such as a city or a large battle drains energy from the Introvert, eventually causing mental harm. However, this can be mitigated by using the skill Meditation. Introverts have relatively few Friend slots, but are able to use their secondary Charisma skill much more efficiently since their interactions with people come off as more authentic and engaging. Introverts also gain bonuses on Concentration and rebuffs against mental control and illusions.   Extroverts require time in stimulating settings, particularly with other people. Being in a setting such as an empty forest far away from others or locked away in a castle dungeon drains energy from the Extrovert, eventually causing mental harm. However, this can be mitigated by using the skill Entertainment. Extroverts have relatively many Friend slots and can even gain temporary slots in certain scenarios. Extroverts also gain bonuses in Persuasion and reaction bonuses in high stress situations (like combat).   Ambiverts are a balance between Introvert and Extrovert, requiring some time alone and some time in the company of others. However, the drain on energy is much less than either end. They will not suffer mental damage, nor require either the Meditation or Entertainment skills to cope. However, they will not gain the same Charisma bonus as the Introverts nor the temporary Friend slots of the Extroverts. Ambiverts gain bonuses on skills that involve Multitasking as well as minor rebuffs and bonuses afforded both Introverts and Extroverts (albeit to a lesser degree).
