Kijo the Blade

Other Names: Kiri-Jolith - Sword of Justice, Amman-Duke, Carnid, Corji, The Horned One, The Immortal General, Jolith.   Symbol: Bison's Horns, battleaxe.   Constellation: The Bison's Head.   Colors: Brown/White.   Patron of: War, justice, honor, battle, courage, heroism, solidarity.   Known Avatars:
  • A burly Hylar soldier with black hair and stormy gray eyes wearing workman-like plate armor and carrying a greatsword. Courteous, careful, and reserved in daily life, his passions are only evident on the battlefield.
  • A huge, axe-wielding minotaur with a bison's head wearing plate armor.
  • An especially hairy Knight of Solamnia.
Kijo the Blade is the god of glory, honor, obedience, justice, and righteous warfare. Paladins and fighters who embrace Order revere him. His constellation threatens the Queen of Darkness’ in the night sky. He is the oldest son of Malleus the Hammer and Mesalax the Midwife, though he preceded his twin brother Kitlin Fishtaker by mere moments. The twins and their godly father appeared before Vinas Solamnus and inspired him to form the Knights of Solamnia. Solamnus did as he was instructed and created an order to follow the teachings of each of the three gods. The Sword of Justice, as the most martial of the three, is the patron of the Order of the Sword.   The Horned One is a war god, but not one possessed by bloodlust and needless violence. He represents righteous warfare, launched to right grievous wrongs. Kijo's behavior reflects this orientation: though his temper is not swift, it is sure when combat is justified.   He has a strong sense of honor and fair play. He targets the guilty only and avoids involving innocents. The Immortal General cannot tolerate tyranny, fighting it with tireless heroism and discipline. His zeal for the cause of Order is outstanding. He aggressively seeks to rebuild his power base, recruiting worshippers to the war for good.   Kijo the Blade is far more aggressive than his father. As the war god of Order, he seeks to rebuild his power base to counter further threats from the Tamex the Corruptor and he sees her draconians and chromatic dragons as terrible threats. Kijo actively recruits for the Knights of Solamnia, seeking warriors with courage, heroism, self-sacrifice, and obedience.

Duties of the Priesthood

Priests of Kijo the Blade must use granted powers to lawfully and honorably combat Evil. The Horned One forbids the use of powers to benefit only the priesthood. If a priest or paladin of Kijo's is in a retreating party, that character must be the last to retreat, covering the party’s escape. Cowardice is blasphemy among Kijo the Blade's worshippers and offenders need atonement and a quest to return to their god’s graces.
