Oshesera (O-shay-say-rah)

Found in the Coral Ba, the Osheseras are an aquatic specie of steeds. Their head resembles those of horses, yet their body is more akin to a fish, scaled and finned. They are mostly used in the United Provinces of Tamynia, although they are sometimes imported and used as novelty pets by Menestian nobles.

They are aquatic animals, although they are capable of surviving at the surface for a few hours, as they store the necessary amount of air to sustain themselves in bubbles at the bottom of their neck.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

It is widely used in the Coral Bay as a mode of transportation, both of individuals and larger water-based carts. They are very rarely used for meat or leather, and often have a role in family structures similar to a pet.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They are mostly found in the Coral Bay, but some bands have formed further in the sea, as they are a saltwater-based specie. However, a variation of such creatures can be found in the northern freshwater lakes of the United Provinces of Tamynia, probably introduced to the environment by merchant many decades ago.

Oshesera are quite intelligent, and develop deep emotional bonds with both other osheresas and humanoids they spend enough time with.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

The Oshesera's colors is a natural defense mechanism that allows them to hide at the bottom of bodies of water. As such, they can range from white to deep green, some even drawing of shades of grey. Aqua and light grey seem to be some of the most common colors among the specie.
