Hallowed Lands

The Hallowed Lands is an island nation in central Farkellia. It is ruled by a cult to Ahrn-Okoth called the Eternal Flame, and the governmental structure is headed by the Voice of Fire, the leader of the cult. Over the last few decades, the Hallowed Lands have ended their century-long isolationist policies and have been expanding their influence across Farkellia and into Eaorma, militarily and diplomatically.   While the Hallowed Lands does not restrict worship of other deities, proclaiming that other gods are in fact children of Ahrn-Okoth, it is impossible to advance past a certain point in society without being a member of the Eternal Flame.   The sense of purpose and clarity that the cult offers is tantalizing, to those living in an often incomprehensible world, and the militant devotion that those within the cult hold has made the Hallowed Lands a force to be reckoned with.

Structure

The upper echelons of government are all held by the Priests of Eternal Flame, led by the Voice, but the more local positions in the Hallowed Lands governmental structure are mostly left to elected local representatives, though these representatives must be part of the cult to Ahrn-Okoth.

History

The Hallowed Lands was formed by a prominent cult to The Burning God called the Eternal Flame. Originating in the Jiderani Empire, the Eternal Flame was a radical political cult in the empire, which made them the target of infiltration and attempted dissolution. In 1054 CE, the cult amassed its resources and left to Farkellia, where they established a country of their own, brutally subjugating the indigenous inhabitants of the islands.
