The Moon
The Moon is the home of the goddess Kimula and infused with Her magical energy. It is a realm deeply tied to the arcane. Wonders of spellcraft are possible here that are not possible anywhere else. In addition to Kimula, it is also the home of the god Besilmir.
Geography
The landscape of the Moon reflects arcane abundance. From the surface of Durin, the Moon appears to be purple with a faint shimmer. On the surface of the Moon, there are vast forests of purple-leaved plants, reflecting the Moon Elven homelands on Durin. Beyond those, there are more fantastic wonders, including crystal jungles, floating islands, and fonts of arcane and elemental energy.
Among these wondrous regions is the Verdant Canvas, the home of the god Besilmir. Here, Besilmir's creativity is creation - using his paintbrush, he reshapes the landscape in this region as he sees fit. It is a region of magnificent beauty. His azatas - fey celestials - call this region home, including the Lillends and Lyrakiens.
History
The Moon is the afterlife of the Moon Elven people, and the spirits of the deceased Elves can be found here. Many were powerful mages and scholars in life, whose powers have only grown as Moon spirits.
The Guardians are protectors of the goddess Kimula and Her realm. The Guardians are rarely seen, but bring divine wrath upon those who would desecrate the Moon. They have been known to target mortals who stay too long in the realm.
No mortal races permanently call the Moon home, although powerful wizards have been known to come to the Moon for magical experimentation, to consult with long-dead sages, or to give praise to the Goddess. Powerful magic is required for travellers from Durin to come to the Moon, usually requiring a plane shift spell, although it is also said that there are natural portals to the Moon across Durin, particularly in the depths of Taberil and Menethyr.
It has been rumored that bugbears have travelled to the Moon and back using these portals, but this is hearsay.
