Shanzou

Shanzou is a large port metropolis and a key trading site for the Empire of Xin. Shanzou is also the capitol city of the large, wealthy, and densely populated Shanzou province. It is ruled by the Dragon Lord Valamthrax.
The province of Shanzou consists of the farmland along the lower Zhulin River and neighboring coast. On the south, it is bordered by the jungles and mountains of Kattikatu and Daderrah. The northern reaches of the province include bamboo forests and mountains. a difficult but stunning landscape. This northern region is sometimes called the Spiritwood as it has long been known to be a home to various fey creatures. However, in recent years, this name has taken on a new meaning as the woods are haunted by the spirits of those slain at the end of the Sun Rebellion.

History

Valamthrax, an adult green dragon, is the Dragon Lord of Shanzou, a large, wealthy, and heavily populated province named after the port metropolis of Shanzou. As a young dragon, Valamthrax established her territory in the nearby bamboo forests and hills.
During the Sun Rebellion of Jiahao, the previous Dragon Lord of Shanzou was killed when traitors in their forces revealed key information to the rebels. Valamthrax quickly gathered their armies and defeated the rebels, claiming the much larger province in the process. Whispered rumors say that Valamthrax orchestrated the defeat in order to seize the province.
Valamthrax’s rule of Shanzou has been prosperous, with foreign trade deals enriching the populace and growing her hoard. Despite the fact that she came to power by defeating a human rebellion, Valamthrax has been generous to her human subjects and lenient in following the caste system within her lands, with some humans having access to education and seats at court.
