Kobold

The kobolds are a small but persistent race, created from the blood of dragons. Kobolds are primarily found in the Northern Continent and the Eastern Continent. Kobolds often manifest sorcerous powers due to their draconic bloodline, or in rare cases, draconic features such as dragon breath or wings. Many serve dragons, but they worship their creator The Dragon God.   Kobolds were originally created by the The Dragon God in his war against the Dwarves. This animosity has continued for centuries, with kobolds and dwarves considering each other to be ancestral enemies.   Within the Empire of Xin, Kobolds are independent of the Imperial Hierarchy as a result of their creation, but often find themselves in service to Dragon Lords, particularly those in the northern reaches of the Empire. The unique skills of Kobolds make them well-positioned as miners. They also serve as night guards in some areas, or as skirmishers and saboteurs in times of war.   Kobolds are known for their devious tactics, including traps, ambushes, and skirmishes. While individual kobolds are usually not a significant threat, a direct attack on a kobold nest can be extremely dangerous due to their pack tactics. Dwarves rarely fight the Kobolds directly, instead using alchemist's fire, poison gas, and other weapons to exterminate their nests.   In Aurorium, many kobolds have found a sense of peace with the Atathian colonists. During the Endless Winter, kobolds from the Flametongue tribe fought alongside Atathian legionaires, including the mighty hero Vorbo. After the Winter ended, a number of kobolds continued to live under Colonia Civium Ahenobarbum, where they work and contribute to the defense of the city.   Kobolds typically have scales in muted colors, such as reddish brown, that do not match the bright scales of true dragons or even dragonborn. In the rare cases where kobolds manifest more draconic traits, their scales often taken on a more vibrant color.
