Holy Week

Holy Week (1st to 7th of Blossom) is held in dedication to Absyun. This Holy Week is common across the Trading Coalition, Atathia, and Maliq.   In Vatalli, Holy Week directly follows the Victory Celebration. It is far more somber in tone. During each day of the week, the faithful are expected to live out one of the teachings of Absyun, including:
  • Piety, 1st of Blossom. Abysun commands the faithful to be devoted to the Church. On this day, it is customary to attend the ceremonies at the temples. In Vatalli, many come to the Grand Temple, although services are also held at smaller neighborhood chapels.
  • Truth, 2nd of Blossom. Absyun commands the faithful to be forthright and to speak no lies. On this day, it is customary to admit falsehoods to those who have been wronged.
  • Justice, 3rd of Blossom. Absyun commands the faithful to be unyielding in their pursuit of righteousness. On this day, it is customary to right wrongs through action.
  • Duty, 4th of Blossom. Absyun commands the faithful to honor their vows. On this day, it is customary to fast.
  • Vigor, 5th of Blossom. Absyun commands the faithful to be capable of defeating the darkness. On this day, it is customary to train and practice for combat.
  • Purity, 6th of Blossom. Absyun commands the faithful to cleanse the unholy. On this day, it is customary to clean one's home and business. It is also customary to maintain graveyards.
  • Mercy, 7th of Blossom. Absyun commands the faithful to be merciful and generous to their fellows. On this day, it is customary to donate to the less fortunate. In Vatalli, nobles are known to sponsor feasts for the poor and other acts of charity.
By law, alcohol and other impure substances are not sold during the Holy Week.
