Suthmore

Suthmore is the regional capital of Virendra, and the seat of the Oakenhart family.   Suthmore was originally a town of strategic and economic value, controlling the prosperity of the mines along the north-western part of The Wyrmspine mountain range. It became the capital following the fall of Burl. It was never the official seat of the Virendran crown, which was subsumed into the Teriman empire before the surviving members of the Oakenhart family reached Suthmore and declared it their new home.

Defences

Suthmore is a walled city in the modern Teriman style. Having expanded greatly since becoming the regional capital, the city walls have been extended or added to on several occasions. The most recent expansion was abandoned early in  construction, and only covers a small arc  at the north of the city, enclosing the unofficial district of Nuthin'more.

The Oakhold

The Oakhold is a fortress-turned-palace atop a drumlin, located near the centre of the city.

Nuthin'more

Nuthin’more fills the space between the outer city wall and an unfinished wall. Near to the main road, the buildings are especially ramshackle, often little more than tents. But a little further into Nuthin’more the quality of accommodation improves - there are no well made structures, but some homes are more permanent and have basic wooden frames, solid roofs, and occasionally even doors - although there are still plenty of tents and shacks dotted among them. Narrow passages wind between the shacks with no consistent order or regularity, and open drains criss-cross the area. Occasional open spaces- normally at the conjunction of a couple of wider streets - are used as places for socialising, trading, preaching, brawling, and the occasional soup kitchen.
