Luarin

The eastern continent of Luarin lies deep in the Outer Ocean, far further from its nearest neighbouring continent, Yasei than any of the Inner Ocean continents are from each other. As a result, the people of Luarin have developed reasonably independently from the other cultures of Dunya, despite the more recent establishment of imported cultures. A major feature of Luarin is the vast amounts of natural plant life, which covers approximately one third of the landmass.

Regions

The Great River Plains

The north western section of Luarin is a large open plain, with many large rivers that snake through it, offering access river boat deep into the heartlands of the continent. The three city-states of this region vie for influence over their smaller neighbours, with towns switching allegiance and loyalties constantly.

Khosa

Resting on the shores of Lake Teriga, Khosa is a city built on layers of history. The original centre of the native goblin peoples, the city is a testament to goblin adaptiveness, with modern buildings standing amongst ancient structures and temples. Whilst still a home to many goblins, many other ancestries now make the city theirs as well, and it has lost much of its power with the rise of other cities in Luarin.

Oporia

The city of Oporia sits on the bay where halfling explorers from Yasei first made landfall, "discovering" Luarin. It serves as the primary hub of ocean trade from Yasei and the Inner Ocean.

Ozlodon

A major shipyard and trade port, the island-based Ozlodon is a former outpost of the Culedein Empirum in Selidan. The city-state gained its independence during the Culedein civil war thirty years ago, and has been rapidly expanding its own influence since. It generally has uncontested control over the towns of the Southern and Eastern Plains, to which no easily accessible land route exists, making sea trade the only option.

The Grasp

The mountainous region of The Grasp lies along the northern coast of Luarin. It is here that the few dwarves of Luarin make their homes, most notably Clan Byskazan and Clan Dehurnamath.  

Vanfell 

  Nestled in the high peaks, the city of Vanfell is the industrial epicentre of Dunya, their many inventions slowly proliferating to the rest of Luarin and Dunya. It is here that blackpowder was first invented, and their technological advancements continue to innovate. The city is home to all many of peoples, many travelling across the sea to live in the Hold of Innovation.

Senalin'gel

Known as the Tangled Wilds to the peoples of the River Plains, Senalin'gel is a massive jungle that reaches to the eastern coast of Luarin, south of The Grasp.

Conanir'gel

Along the southern coast of Luarin is the forest of Conanir'gel, or the Wide Woods to those few peoples who live in the Southern or Eastern Plains.

Guring Desert

The Guring Desert is a place of desolation, a great sea of sand where few things survive. It effectively cuts the continent in two, as the only paths that bypass are by sea or the far east of Senalin'gel. Local legend says that the sands are cursed, and few are willing to brave the harsh climate to prove it.

Southern Plains

Few people live in the Southern Plains, often those looking to escape the constant meddling of the city-states.

Eastern Plains

The Eastern Plains are incredibly fertile, particularly upriver near Mount Harnos. As such, all three city-states have sought to establish outposts in the region, but have trouble exerting and maintaining their influence over such a distance.
