The Isles of Albion

The Isles of Albion is a land shrouded in mist, hidden from the outside world. Here it is a cold and damp environment, filled with perilous marshlands and fens. The Isles of Alba, Iweriu and Albina are connected by causeways that were built long ago by the Giants who also inhabit the Isles. Each Isle is occupied by fierce Clans of woad paint wearing natives, Clan Alba led by Faichra Tuathail, Clan Iweri led by Conlan Lethlobar and Clan Albin led by Godred Maoilriain respectively.

Geography

The Isles of Albion are covered in a thick blanket of fog and it rains almost every day, creating vast swamps and boggy marshes. Along the coasts of the Isles are jagged rocks caved out by the persistent battering of the oceans waves, huge cliffs and quicksand. There are thick forests, vast open moorlands, mountain ranges and highlands. In the centre of the Isles within the perimeter of the causeways is an immense inland sea known as Loch Bas.

Fauna & Flora

Growing in the swamp lands there are many varieties of grain, rice and roots, while amongst the reeds in the thick muddy waters live eels, frogs, snails and other amphibious creatures. These marshlands although bountiful are equally hazardous. The beaches and shorelines offer seaweed, crustaceans and sea moss, when the sea is calm it makes for good fishing however the ocean is both feared and respected by the inhabitants of the isles who never venture far from land due to the whimsical temperament of the surrounding waters and the deadly creatures that lurk beneath its murky surface. Within the sheltered confines of the woodlands grow berries, nuts, mushrooms, various root vegetables and medicinal herbs, under the canopies of the great oak trees live deer, wolves and bears, while herds of wild horses and cows wander the vast open moorlands and highlands.
