Bonemaw Stockade

Bonemaw Stockade is home to the worst of the worst, and he is the warden. Through the years, Bonemaw has garnered a rather sordid history. The outer wall is a massive 60' stone wall with guard towers every 50' and a massive gatehouse completes the outer defenses. Inside the outer gates are the barracks for the prison employees, a Drakkarian Water Tower , a large smithy, a temple of Eobathy, stables, an armory, and of course the warden's mansion. Set back behind the internal village is the secondary wall. This wall is only 30' tall, with towers every 100 feet and three different gates. There is a sixty-foot perimeter around the backside of the constantly patrolled fence. Inside this second wall is the prison itself. Half of the prison is built from the ground up. The other goes several floors into the bowels of the prison.
Those lucky enough to be in the Warden section have running water, sanitization, and even a power generator installed recently, giving the stockade electricity. If you are on the other side of that inner wall, you are not so lucky. Most of the prisoner's water is tainted with illness and sewage. The deeper you go into the dungeon area, the worse conditions get. In the lower levels, the prisoners don't even get daylight.

Purpose / Function

It was originally built as a fort and later turned into a prison.

Alterations

Over the many years there have been many additions to the prison.

History

It was originally constructed as a fort along the old Serpent Path. As trade routes changed, it fell into disrepair and so did Bonemaw. In the year 12,470 AC Karl McBregritopia convinced his nephew Gabriel Bregritopia to update and turn this ruin into the kingdoms prison. After a few years of updates to the structure, it housed its first prisoner in 12,474 AC with Karl's fourth son James McBregritopia as the warden. Since then, many notorious criminals have been housed inside these walls and a McBregritopia is always the warden.
