The best places for illicit deals are often places easily forgotten, a fact born out by this tavern. The Blue Mermaid tavern is a respectable establishment with decent food at a good price whose clientele is normally sailors and dock workers looking for a quiet place to eat. The manager is a man named Stevian, whose appearance is as forgettable as his tavern. If you frequent Downshadow or Skullport, however, it’s best to know the proprietor well, as the quickest (and safest) access to Skullport runs through the back of his shop. It is not cheap for outsiders though (35 gp per head), so best to have an arrangement through a patron. The rooms lining that passage are where many criminal organizations prefer to do official meetings with envoys of other organizations, granting the tavern a sanctuary status of sorts. And to think, Volo called it boring.
