Dr. Rolan Conway
Dr. Rolan Conway is a Carmenthian human man in his early forties, born and raised on the island. He has dedicated his life to uncovering the original, lost temple of Carmenthia – the Goddess who grants him the ability to decipher the Arcane. Despite the roadblocks he has faced in his career, he has risen in the ranks at St. Carmen's and was recently promoted to the Director of the Historical and Archeological Research Department.
In light of the recent outbreak, funding has become tighter at St. Carmen's. Right as Dr. Conway was making headway... his funding was threatened. Although there are certainly selfish motivations, Dr. Conway wholeheartedly believes that the situation with the outbreak is unusual and odd. Given this unconventional situation, perhaps they should turn to unconventional means. This opinion, however, has put him at odds with the Director of St. Carmen's: Dr. Stefano Corvinus. Although called "blasphemous" by some, Dr. Conway is not afraid to comment on Carmenthia's history of lacking empathy and making questionably ethical decisions for the pursuit of knowledge.
