Keeper Lucian: "So you have stated that you look forward to the day you 'become one with the wind and sea'. What exactly did you mean by this?"
Free-Tongue: "Ah, yes, many of the jhoth-oro (trans. short lived people) are fascinated by the end to life and what comes after."
Keeper Lucian: "Well even you must admit, if not from a place of fear, that the ultimate destination of the soul is an interesting subject. But perhaps for the deathless this query seems pointless."
Free-Tongue: The Jotunn seemed to chuckle at my bringing up death. "What a funny word 'death' is. My people do not have this word. Though I suppose the closest word would be onn-sahris (trans. last walk), which to your people would mean 'last walk'."
Keeper Lucian: "And what does this 'last walk' entail?"
Free-Tongue: "As you are aware, we Jotunn can live fore many years, even beyond the oldest kha-oro (trans. people of the trees, ie. Elves). Though this does not mean that the Jotunn live forever, as is well known by your people." A hint of disdain seemed to cross the Jotunn's face but it left as soon as it had arrived. "When a Jotunn feels their time in this physical realm has come to an end they begin the onn-sahris. We make our final travel back to Nith-sinn (trans. first step), the birth place of all the Jotunn."
Keeper Lucian: "I'm sorry to interrupt but could you please expand upon this place you call Nith-sinn? Where is it? Are all Jotunn from all of Dremlia from here? What--"
Free-Tongue: "I am sorry Keeper, but I have already spoken too much about Nith-sinn I mustn't go any further on the subject, but I will continue my explanation of onn-sahris if you wish."
Keeper Lucian: "Of course, please continue." I must remember to research the term Nith-sinn in the archives later.
Free-Tongue: "As I was saying, once a Jotunn has made their way to Nith-sinn they begin the process of onn-sahris. The Jotunn sheds their physical form and their magical essence becomes one with the forces of nature. The wind, the water, the fire, the thunder, in the most beautiul display of magical expression the Jotunn merges their consciousness with the very foundations that bind this world together. I can think of no greater honor to experience and I look forward to the day I get to engage in onn-sahris."
Keeper Lucian: "That is beautiful, and I thank you for sharing this deeply intimate way of your people with me. I have many more questions for you if you are willing, but for now I believe we are at a good place to take a rest."
Free-Tongue: "Perhaps I may share more, only time will tell."
Within an hour the Jotunn known as Free-Tongue had vanished from the academy with none having seen where he had gone off to. While I regret not keeping a better eye on my Jotunn subject, this day much has been learned about these beautiful and mysterious people.
