Commander of the Red Rose

Commander of the Red Rose, also known as the Grand Commander, is both the highest rank of the Thorn Court , as well as a honorary title given to the leader of the order. The Commanders of the Red Rose usually serve for life, and there has been only few occasions of the removal of the title, always based on very serious offences. 

Requirements

To become the Commander of the Red Rose, a person must have proven their worth as a Thorn Knight, and must be trusted by their people. While an official requirement for certain amount of years in service does not exist, The Commanders of the Red Rose have usually served the Thorn Court for decades, as they must have risen in ranks to a Commander of the Purple Rose before they are eligible for the rank.

Appointment

The Commander of the Red Rose is appointed amongst The Commanders of the Purple Court. Their council nominates the candidates, and an official election is held. Usually two candidates are chosen, and the winner is the one who wins the majority of the votes on their side. However, after the winner is declared, the Council votes again if the chosen person will get their trust. The person must get two third of the Council members on their side before they are officially accepted as the next Commander of the Red Rose.

Duties

The Commander of the Red Rose is the leader of the Thorn Court. They oversee the duties of the Court, and work as the face for the order. They are the one representing the Thorn Court in official events, such as the coronations of the new sovereigns of the other Courts. The Commander of the Red Rose is also present during the trials of the criminals who have committed the most serious crimes against the Folk, but these are very rare.
