Seg'rail the First.
Seg'rail the First is a holy figure among the Pyrrocian doctrine "The Path of the Eternal Flame". Seg'rail had lost many a clansmen every winter as Mortifis rampaged on their lands, eager to consume the heart of Mount Askara in his gluttony. The harsh cold was unsuitable for his people, nor their crops or the game in the jungle. So, as darkness loomed on his tribe on his 34th year, the Grey Dreagasian set out from his home, in hopes of convincing Pyrros to help save his people, knowing not how many more winters his tribe could withstand. His tribe elders urged him against seeking out the god, as many who have tried in the past never returned from the mountain but Seg'rail would not be swayed. After many days of travel through dense jungle dodging ravenous beast and cannibalistic tribes Seg'rail found himself at the foot Mount Skara, its monstrous height looming over him. Eager to gain audience with the Lord of Flame Seg'rail extended his wings, having saved those muscles for the difficult flight ahead. But Pyrros had many Dreagasians come to his doorstep, bellowing their pitiful mortal worries to the sky, and the racket they made if they made it to the rim! So, the god had placed a little...handicap around his home. Creatures crafted out of earth and heat, miniature likeness' of himself patrolled the skies surrounding the mountain. Every time Seg'rail left the ground, one of these monstrosities would dive and force him to land, diving into the nearby jungle to hide. Again and again Seg'rail, flew, dived, and hid the suns rose, set and rose again and still, Seg'rail was at the bottom of the Mountain. Exhausted Seg'rail would sleep facing a large Skii'th tree, his pewter wings curling around him imitating a stone for two whole days. Pyrros would invade the sleeping Dreagasian's dreams, for his constructs had not been able to locate him. "Where are you Gnat....?" Pyrros would whisper "You have come to seek me yet you hide in the thick?" Seg'rail visioning himself in a world constructed from flame would lay completely still. A skill his tribe had adapted to survive the clashing of the gods that frequented their lands. "Reveaaal yourself Gnat, or my pets will burn the remaining jungle on this continent to the ground." Pyrros would tease again. That gave Seg'rail such clever idea that he tore himself from his slumber. If the god was intent on targeting the jungle, he would not be interested in the rocks that made up his mountain home. So, inch by inch Seg'rail would crawl across the the course ground, his wings still draped over him. It took another two full days for Seg'rail to reach the mountain face, and another 14 to climb to the mountains summit. "Your pets couldn't stop me. Your mountain could not stop me! I am here! And I demand audience with you oh molten one!" Seg'rail would bellow at the bubbling earth that plunged beneath him, but the god, would not answer. Seg'rail would take a deep breath to bellow louder to the inattentive god but found his chest burning from the mountains foul vapors. In a cry of both agony and anger the Dreagasian would force the fumes out of his core so fast that they...ignited! A blast of bright fire would erupt out of the grey's lips stirring the magma below. This would cause the pool to bubble and rumble as he the Great Dragon of Fire himself rose from the core. Glistening orange streams of molten rock trickled down his shimmering ruby scales as he rose, embedding four massive black talons to Seg'rail's left, and additional four to his right. The Dreagasain found himself staring into the burning amber eyes of Pyrros, whose tremendous maw was poised devour him whole. "You are a stubborn Gnat! You're reason here better be important." The God spoke but wheezing in the foul air Seg'rail gasped only a few grunts. "Well?! You climb all this way, disrupt my pool, and have nothing to say?! LEAVE! Or I will drag you to the heart of this mountain." And with a huff, Pyrros returned to the magma below. Seg'rail would not be swayed by his elders, and nor would he be swayed a God, no matter how terrifying it may be. So Seg'rail waited. Each day breathing in the fumes of the volcano and each night restless due to wheezing and coughing fits. Over time, the young Dreagasian became more and more acclimated to the harsh conditions of the summit breathing was still laborious, but he had become capable of raspy speech. Seg'rail brought himself to the rims edge, filling his lungs to with the putrid fumes he would once again exhale with all of his force, igniting the gases in a blast that this time due to his acclimation rattled the entire mountain on impact. Pyrros would rush from the volcanoes core, bring his mass to bear over the Dreagasian. "WHAT. DO. YOU. WANT?!" the God bellowed in rage, preparing to strike Seg'rail down. Through bloodshot crimson eyes Seg'rail rasped out. "You will....you will...help...my people....we freeze...we starve....in YOUR lands. In your domain. You WILL help us." Pyrros was amazed at this notion. This mortal, where most resort to animalistic fear disregarded his own life to save his people. He didnt come for power, but it was power that Pyrros would grant him. "3000 days mortal. If you can survive 3000 days on this mountain, through ten seasons, through any nudges my brothers throw at my masterpiece you will stay on this rim. If you can do that, you will have everything you need to save your people yourself." For 3000 days Seg'rail stood atop Mount Askara, surviving off of volcanic algae and boiling spring water watching as the Lord of Flame clashed with Terrano in the distance, Zennon in the skies, and Mortfis so close he was ducking and rolling between each Gods mammoth steps. From watching and learning from Pyrros during this time Seg'rail perfected the Path of the Eternal Flame, and leaving Mount Askara as the first Pyrrocian.
