These large crustaceans are often mistaken as massive islands with large sea plants growing on their shell to make them look like normal shoal or coastal island. When sailors will land on them to hunt or rest and light their fires for cooking or for leisure, the creature will feel the fire as a form of heat and will move deeper to colder waters, many times taking the surprised sailors with them and sinking them in the depths. These beasts do not swim, they use their large clawed segmented legs to walk along the water floor, which is why they are only seen on the tops of ocean mountains, or closer to larger land shores, sometimes they rest buried in the center of atolls.
