The Investigators

The Investigators are the human side of the Draconic Defendre. To many of the Draconic they're seen as nothing more than servants, just little "things" to do their bidding. However, without The Investigators the Defendre would be nowhere near as influential as it is now without their help.

The Job

The Investigators spread the word of how good the Draconic Defendre is, telling of how they simply want to save Draconis, all the while gathering as much information as they can about the possibility of nearby Drakos.

If there is a Drakos nearby or at least a rumor of one, it is up to The Investigators to chase down these rumors (or an actual Drakos) and determine whether it's real or not. Saving many of the Defendre Units from going on hundreds of wild goose chases.

And there are a nearly innumerable amount of wild goose chases, but on the bright side, at least they get to see the world!

Career

Qualifications

To be an investigator one must train under a Draconic for about five to ten human years (occasionally longer if a Draconic deems the human unfit for the field, but still with the potential to be ready). This training usually consists of classes on manipulation and various forms of lying, interrogation, and Drakos, who they are, what they look like, and how they tick.

Once one has graduated from this training school, they will then be under the supervisement of a Draconic and a long time veteran of the profession. This Draconic will watch the Rookie, making sure they don't give anything away. The veteran will also be watching the Rookie, and making sure they stick to protocol.

Once both the veteran and the Draconic say the rookie is ready, the Rookie will no longer be a Rookie and will have officially graduated.

Other Benefits

Being an Investigator is for the humans who want to get on the good side of somewhat powerful and influential Draconic or to simply travel.

Working for powerful people or beings sometimes makes you powerful by default and that's what many people wish going into this job. Power, money, fame, the possibility of being protected, it's almost a package deal.

But a rare few do it to travel, not necessarily because they don't want the power or fame, but because they get to see the world for almost no cost.

Social Status

The Investigators are a very controversial group. Some think they are nothing but gossipers spreading false news about Drakos. Others think they are important and should be treated with respect, after all they are risking their lives trying to warn people about the horrid Drakos. And some are indifferent. For the most part.
