The Girl
I saw her walking down the hallway one day and I remember thinking, "Wow, she's pretty." (As you can tell I was quite the poet.) But more importantly, I remember her clutching her Math book and quietly walking down the hallway, not talking to anyone.
She looked lonely, and I wanted to talk to her, but I backed down. I don't know why. Just nerves, I guess.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Both of her parents often work late into the night, prone to plucking up overtime. I wonder if this is where she gets her own fierce dedication, but I also think how lonely she must be. Even during lunch or free period, she's on her own with her nose in a book. Yet, even though they're not at home often, her parents do everything they can to come to her school activities. Her parents are supportive but anyone can see she wishes they were home more often.
She takes so much after her parents. She's such a hard worker, studies hard and tends to focus on her grades with unremitting determination. She seems to like to keep busy and when she's not studying, she's follows in her parents' footsteps: she takes that dedication into her job. I don't know how she does it! Good grades, doting parents, steady job, I could never compare.
Education
It's no surprise to anyone she gets straight As. I've managed a glance at her notebook, in passing, once or twice, and am still blown away by her organization and attention to detail! She always dots her i's and crosses her t's so neatly. (And I only know this because we take Arithmatic together, not because I was spying on her.)
She has her eyes set so firmly on the path ahead and has her act together in a way... I only wish I had the will to imitate. One of these days, I want to work up the courage to ask her what she wants to become, what she wants to do in life.
But I take one look at her and I fall apart. My tongue disappears and my brain shuts down. I don't think I'll ever be able to talk to her.
Employment
She has a part time job after school. I'm always trying to find an excuse for us to eat there, even if I don't have the money to pay for myself. I sit with my two friends, pretend to listen to them bicker, but I just want to see her at work. She shines so bright but I don't think she's ever met my eyes.

She works hard and makes sure everything is as near to perfect as she can get it and finds happiness in doing something well. She is kind and is ready to stop everything to help someone. She is understanding, empathetic, and humble.
Vices & Personality flaws
She sometimes works too hard. And sometimes she's too busy working herself to exhaustion. If she's in the middle of a project she sometimes pushes people away and ignores her friends and family. Sometimes she gets too focused on something and forgets that there are people who can help her. Sometimes I get concerned for her, putting so much into her grades, family and job that she doesn't take any time for the little things. Not that I have any right to worry for her... but I wonder if she ever stops to enjoy herself.
