The Best Friend
To have someone always be there for you no matter what you do or what choices you make is something that almost never happens. Whether it's something serious or silly, or dangerous or safe, knowing they'll always have your back is something I didn't realize I had till later on.

He has a good life. Good parents, good house, good pets. I spent my free time over at his house or just loitering around town together. Playing his video games, eating his food, and sleeping in his room. Yet he never complains, even when I accidentally broke his window or tripped over some wires causing him to lose his game. He's more patient and tolerant than one might expect despite his wild personality
And I wasn't sure whether I hated that about him or loved it. He had everything that I never could. I kept him as far away from my life and my house as I possibly could. I never told him what happened there, at my home, but I didn't really have to. I think he knew.

My best friend always looked on the bright side. He wasn't exactly those super-chippy everything's going to be great, everything is great, and nothing can possibly go wrong, but he had some inner faith that made him believe everything was going to be fine, even when things were getting screwed up, and when things started to scrumble around him.
I always wondered where that inner faith, that inner belief came from. And I still don't know, but when it came to having faith that everything was going to work out that everything was going to be fine, it felt like he gave me a litle bit of his faith.
Even though sometimes it felt like there was nothing to have faith in.
