Tia Soultiller
(a.k.a. The Sunset Spear)
As a lightborn halfling, Tia was a bit of an oddity in the Somerset Hills. Her family of farmers, the Tillers, loved her dearly, but was unsure of how to best cultivate her burgeoning abilities. So they booked her passage on a merchant vessel headed to Southscape, where she could learn from the Clerics and grow to her full potential. Unfortunately she never made it to Southscape. A little halfling girl all alone at sea among strangers is a treacherous situation, and the ship’s first mate was a less than honorable man. Seeing her as easy prey, he attempted to corner her one night to harm her. She fought back, mortally wounding her attacker, but was stabbed herself and thrown overboard in the scuffle. She washed up a few days later in the deltas of the Putrid Marsh. Some Saurians took her little, nearly lifeless body to Athienne Witherling, who asked her if she was ready to die or if she had some fight left in her soul. Tia spat seawater from her lungs in the elf’s face in defiance, making Athienne smile. The necromancer worked her magic upon Tia’s angry soul, turning her into a wight. Tia then invested herself back into her dead body, stretching its form into that of a slim but full sized human woman. Now she serves as a deathknight of Tenabrius, one of his and Umbra’s most fearsome disciples. She has a literal burning hatred to sailors, setting their ships ablaze with her flaming spear, Retribution.
