The Argent Herd

Argostan granted the tauriens dominion over the Pasture, the southernmost swath of the Silverspire Empire. Taurien culture does not recognize land as belonging to any one person, which can quickly leady to conflict with local lords and farmers. But in the Pasture they are free to roam and graze and fight amongst themselves without worry over whose land they tred on. The Silver Dragonlord asked one thing of them in return for this boon, that they fight for him when called upon. Taurien culture also highly regards loyalty and martial prowess, so they found these terms more than agreeable.
Thus the Argent Herd, Argostan's personal army, was formed. The great dragon uses them sparingly, but when a local lordling oversteps his bounds or makes unjust war upon a neighbor, the Herd is brought in to maintain the peace. Likewise if a foreign threat were to appear upon the horizon, it is the Herd who would fight in the vanguard to defend the Empire.
