Sea Elves
The rarest of all elf races, sea elves hail from the remote Coral Isles in the Syridian Sea. They are thought to be the descendants of high elves who either sailed or shipwrecked to the archipelago at some point in the distant past. The inexcessability of the isles allows for them to exist independent of Elder Dragon rule. They mostly eek out a living growing tropical fruit and fishing the teeming reefs in the shallow-draft canoes.
Though their crafts are not hardy enough to traverse the open sea, they have been known to attack larger ships that got blown off course or tried to cut a path too close to the reefs. One can argue whether this practice makes them pirates or if they are simply defending their homes from what they see as potential invaders.

Biological Traits
Perhaps hailing from a line of waterborn elves, sea elves likewise have blue and green hued skin, eyes, and hair. They retain the pointed ears, fair features, and exceedingly long lifespans of their continental bretheren, though it is unclear if they can breathe underwater or if that is simply a legend. On average they are somewhat shorter than high elves, or even wood elves, with somewhat longer hands and feet in comparison to their light frames. Many sea elves have iridescent patches on their skin, reminiscent of fish scales. Whether this is an innate trait like their waterborn ancestors or the result of some magically-infused cultural practice is not known to outsiders.
