Mischa the Pack-Bear
Nearly as enigmatic as her partner, Ivan "the Merchant," is Mischa, the Pack-Bear. Mischa and Ivan wander the Imperium trading wares and treasures with whomever they meet. By all accounts Mischa is a run of the mill brown bear, and exceedingly well trained brown bear, but she has never been documented as displaying any magical abilities beyond that. Other than of course the fact that scattered references to her date back several centuries. Ivan and Mischa appear in stories at least as far back as the Giant Age, if not further. Some who make outlandish claims about Ivans origins suggest the pair are two parts of the same whole, occupying different bodies but sharing one soul. Others claim Ivan is some sort of ageless immortal and that there have been numerous bears, all named Mischa, who he has trained and traveled with over the years. While the pair tend to be friendly and forthcoming with various stories and tall tales, they are cagey vague about their own histories. Well, that is to say Ivan is cagey, Mischa is a bear and so does not tell stories about any subject.
