After her flameborn sister accidentally burned her family’s homestead, killing everyone but Mave in the process, she vowed that she would never be caught unawares again. She picked up what she could from the ashes of her former life and moved to Silverspire to study chronurgy. She spent time with the Chroniclers, but found their approach too tacit and reactive. She read what she could but knew that in order to truly advance her clairvoyance she would need access to the texts at the Sands of Time. When her caravan of pilgrims headed for the library was attacked by orc raiders, everyone was caught by surprise except for her. Mave’s burgeoning powers had allowed her to foresee the ambush, and she had her move ready. In a statement she prepared in orcish she told their leader she was a witch seeking to study with their mistress, the greatest magic user in the world. The orcs took the bait, and transported her to Cerelea. The blue dragon curse was impressed with both her magical acumen and willingness to sacrifice her fellow travelers in the pursuit of power. Now Mave serves as one of Cerelea’s chief advisors and is generally thought to be her favorite minion after her darkborn. Mave is a woman who is always looking three steps ahead, but what could her end game be?
