While Argostan serves as the official lord of the state of Silverspire, as well as the Empire in its entirety, he does not bother himself with the ins and outs of governing most of the time as this would vastly decrease the number of and extent of power plays which could be attempted in his domain, which would be ever so boring. The current administrators of Silverspire are the Pointe dynasty and its young matriarch, Dutchess Serena. In an unorthodox move her father retired from his Dukedom to hand her the reins at just twenty three years of age. Serena has been known as a prodigy from a young age, excelling in her academic studies, sorcery, and statecraft. Before her tenth birthday she was identified as the new Light Champion of Water, a designation she is willing to exploit but does not seem to let get to her head. Instead she is known for her willingness to listen to counsel and the expertise of others, but is still able to take decisive action for the betterment of her state, even when she knows it will not necessarily be popular. This has garnered her both a great deal of respect and ire from her fellow nobles as well as the common folk. Though all signs point to her remaining in power for an extended reign, it is still worth noting that she has publicly stated she has no intention of ever marrying, nor bearing children, claiming that such affairs would prove distractions from her duties as dutchess. She says the issue of descendancy will be the responsibility of her little sister, and that she will train her future niece or nephew to succeed her when the time comes.
