Dutchess of Drake's Crossing (a.k.a. The Broadsword)
The Crosstons are the lords of the trading town, Drake’s Crossing. As both a market town for local farmers and the central hub of the Silverspire Empire, a large amount of goods move through it each day. This influx of wealth has allowed an otherwise relatively small city to wield a decent amount of political power, including becoming the seat of its own state. Lady Airyn is more of a warrior than politician or coin counter, but with her city surrounded on all sides by rivals who would love to assimilate her family’s tax revenues into their own coffers, this is not necessarily a bad thing. A career soldier, she has never been married, but she has a young daughter for an heir. The father is unidentified, and pressing her on the issue has been a reliable way to receive a gauntleted blow to the head. Rivals will see this bastard as an illegitimate claimant, so securing a strong marriage for her will be a necessary step when she comes of age. Until then Airyn continues to staunchly defend her home and faithfully serve her dragonlord.
