Burning Brand, The Ruby Runeblade, Fragment of Flame

Scarleria, the Cindered Shade, wields Burning Heart, the Ruby Runeblade. Set into its hilt the Fragment of Fire. Its crossguard is made of pure truesilver, while the midnight black blade is nightsteel. The method for forming this alloy of sky iron and truesilver is lost to time, unless it is buried somewhere in the Record. The blade stays ever sharp and does not lose hardness or warp when flames spout from the Fragment. The glowing red runes along the blade are written in draconic, perhaps a clue as to its origins. A champion’s weapon to be sure, but equally so that of a tyrant. For which purpose does it find itself in the hands of the leader of the Knights of Cleansing Flame?
