Bern Bronzehall
(a.k.a. Bronzehand)
Called "Bronzehand" for the mechanical replacement hand he wears on his right arm, Bern is the brother of the late Thane Bronzehall and uncle to the new one. Bern lost his original hand to a dvergen battleaxe in a naval battle in Boiling Bay. Though his prosthetic is supposedly the beak of gnomish design and dwarven craftsmanship, it is a poor replacement for the real thing.
When his brother was slain by an iron boar during a hunt many thought Bern would be the next dwarf to sit the Bronze Throne, so when Aurillex and Archbishop Ironhide announced that it would be his young niece who would succeed her father there was quite the kerfuffle. Many questioned if young Frey was ready for such a responsibility, though none would voice their concerns openly to the Elder Dragon. To his credit, Bronzehand has been a vocal supporter of his niece and helped smooth the transition to her regime. However as she continues to push policies that are less than popular with the dwarven elite many have grumbled that an error in judgement may have been made.
