It is not typical for an immortal elf to become fascinated with death, let alone undeath. But perhaps it was the alien nature of the concept that initially enraptured Athienne. She studied necromancy for centuries, and so naturally her studies found her leaving Aeria for the Putrid Marshes. It is said she leads the efforts to achieve Tenabrius’ dream of becoming a dracolich, if such a thing is even truly possible. She has no need of lichdom herself, does she do it out of devotion to the Shadow of Death? Is it purely a grim fascination with the macabre? Or does she perhaps believe she can enthrall him to her power in the transformation?
