Fourth Crisis
With the O.M.N.I. threat and the rising Dangers of the DaiKaiju the world demanded solutions. Nuclear weapons had already proven ineffective in the short term, let alone the long-term cost of their use.
The world turned to the UN to find a solution. Realizing that Single state and even limited Allaince like NATO unable to fully provide soltion the International Communit was hoped would solve the Issue and given the rising costs, the scale demanded everyone.
AJoint Task Force created several solutions to solve these issues.
The First was the C.O.R.E. Or the Counter OMNI Robotic Experiments. These were to produce machines that did not need the O.M.N.I.framework to work, allowing humans ot meet O.M.N.I.'s GEAR and Frames in combat at a mutual level. These CORE units created Power armor, Mech Tanks and other massive robot forces to face both threats.
These Walking tanks build on the Frames technology used everything that could be hauled out of the X'tachn that didn't connect back to O.M.N.I. the result was less streamlined than the GEAR but also easier to produced as many nations were part of the Development and Production of these Armoured C.O.R.E. mechs.
The real problem with O.M.N.I.'s cores was not the material it was O.M.N.I.'s ability to keep its soldiers and frames fighting longer and harder, the strange nature of the Cybernetics from those that were capture, went willing or were crazy enough to join OSSI freely always seemed to shock and horrify the rest of the world.
The GEARs fought harder and longer, almost able to put DaiKaiju to shame for how long and hard they could fight.
C.O.R.E. pilots could put in the work, and even match but slug fights with Kaiju and GEARs always turned into battle of endurance.
Enhancing the Pilots began necessary, and Enhancing them by any means began the thought process.
With the Sucess of CORE The joint task force began the first Nu-Human trials.
Nu taken from the greek's thirteen letter N/v, in mathmatics the v is often used to represent Freedom, and the projects hope was that these Freedom Fighters would free humanity from the fear of the Robot and the Giant Monster.
The Nu-Humans were created with a combination of Cybernetics, genetic manipulation and experiment theories from the X'tachn technology, Kaiju Biology and OMNI robotics backward engineered. At first they were little more than suits and drugs, but soon after they began to look like cybernetic horrors that not even OMNI would field until finally the agumentions were easy enough to hide away, and often in bright colors to distract from the unusaul changes they brought on.
Producing the first Nu-human, these soldiers were able to perform beyond Olympian levels. They easily lifted world records, outpaced world-class runners, jumped higher, tested higher on intelligence tests, and had incredible reaction speeds. The harsh, hellish conditions of war were easy enough for these Genome Soldiers to handle, and they began to have incredible results once they began to be fielded. And more and more research began to produce seemingly impossible wonders on the battlefield.
Armed with COREs piloted by these Nuhumans; "Humanity" thought it would win its wars.
However either feeding on the energy reactors from GEAR or CORES or even the corpses of other Kaijus, the rate of the Kaiju's maturities began to expand.
OMNI seemingly began to produce its own Nu-humans after Humanity set their loose, and OMNI’s were somehow superior, much like their GEARS were superiour to COREs.
The Strides of NuTypes seemed to slowly widdle away as the Kaiju meance adapted, and OMNI was content to maintain it's boarders.
With the Kaiju threat expanding and fear of loosing what little ground had been gain, the UN authorized the joint weapon project, RAGNOROK.
The X'tachn power generator known as the Higgs Generator was completely stable and would simply turn off if anything were to happen to it. This preventing its power from being used destructively or so it was first thought.
However, through reverse engineering of some of OMNI's technology, it was learned that it was possible to stop the automatic shutoff and instead accelerate it to create a destructive meltdown. OMNI had never used this but its Higgs Generators would sometimes enter this state to produce more power and with the secret learned, humanity thought it had unlocked an answer.
It was believed, incorrectly, that the Higgs Energy would not produce heat but rather kinetic energy, which would allow the weapon to pulverize an area with catastrophic event occurred. And safely allow the area to return to mostly normal. A non-nuclear waeapon with the yeild of a nuclear payload.
Believe they had no choice, the first Higgs Warhead was prepared and the test fired at the Pacific Ocean location known as Heart of Darkness. The believed breeding place of the Kaiju's and the resting place of many Daikaijus.
The hope was that if it was successful it could be used against the OSSI, and both threats would be over.
The results were deemed unacceptable, and the math was very, very wrong
The Energy released was like that of several GIGATONS that seemingly vaporized the heart of darkness and miles of the Pacific Ocean too, water, bedrock and live in a massive explosion. The force caused massive eruptions and earthquakes, a massive Typoon formed from the vaporized sea water and super heated air that drowned the pacific in the massive torrent of storm. A Tsumani slamed into every coast across the Pacific ocean.
The ocean fell hundreds of feet only to rise back up in less than a day as the massive storm moved across the world. The resulting heat rapidly changed the jet streams of the planet and the explosion hit the earth with enough force to cause a create that was believed to cut into the core and pushed the earth thousands of miles out of orbit. This was not realized until after the storm passed. The super heated air finally cooled, and then kept cooling resulting in a new winter and polar cap situation the froze the artic and dropped temperatures across the globe.
The Warhead had another effect though it threw countless amounts of those strange X'tachn Particles into space, like a flare to anyone who would be Watching, and someone was.
