These several meteors would strike the earth with h in a year of their discovery. While the larger pieces would cause minor devastation, the whole impact into the Pacific Ocean would have a pronounced effect on nations along the Ring of Fire.
The meteors were parts of machines, and other things discovered to be relics of extraterrestrial intelligence. Those with power quickly recovered what they could, and more and more began to search the pacific’s depths. What was recovered was quickly studied, and technology started rapidly advancing.
The largest advancement is the Higgs Energy Reactor. Able to produce seemingly clean, unlimited energy. With this powerful new metallurgy, and more are developed. All this technology gives off a strange energy source that seems to echo from the beyond understood Quantum Mechanics. While some warn of the dangers, the drive for faster, quicker, better and cheaper is the driving force of not only governments, their citizens, but also the corporations that begin to make the products built from the discovery of this technology.
Acknowledging the other life in the universe where this technology was from was muted and suppressed to avoid calamity as it was reasoned, those from the time remember a lot of talk about it was quickly funneled to UFO cultists or fringe weirdos while the latest advancement in washing machines was loudly cried out and shown off.
Most of the Nations that can recover these alien artifacts refuse to share them as the world sees a rise in brinkmanship. The Pacific sees a rise in fleets nearly clashing, and sometimes, things that go under the water never return to the surface. Many nations begin to blame each other. Sanctions, Embargoes, threats, and military conflicts in proxy begin to rise.
Unknown to the Earth, these parts belong to a species known as the
