Stardust Sword Style

Stardust Phoenix's signature fighting style, created from his experience with other styles. It is based around the quickdraw sword style known as Iai, and by focusing before drawing his blade he can use different techniques.

History

Having spent his early years learning the Kazehana style of swordplay, Star learned how to remix them into a unique sword style of his own. For a period he had a dojo open to teach students his way of the sword, but chose to close it for their protection. Each of the attacks are named after prominent Earth stars.

Execution

Each of these attacks have a Draw Charge listed after that denotes how long he must focus an attack before drawing his sword to utilize it. A Draw Charge of 1 means an attack is instantaneous and can be used multiple times throughout a fight, a Draw Charge of 2 means some buildup is necessary and Star will not open a fight with that move, and finally a Draw Charge of 3 means that move is a finisher and will be used no more than once a fight. They also have a name beside them, describing the Kazehana Style move it was based on.

Saiph: Stardust's sword is fired from his sheath (the hilt is the part of the blade that connects in this attack) at a high speed and a with a high centripetal force, the sword is shot out like a rocket at an extreme force and speed that few people could avoid. Of the projectile attacks in Star's arsenal of techniques, this is the one that has the most immediate force behind it. Draw Charge: 1 (Shoot the Moon)

Ankaa: While Star can no longer easily generate enough heat to ignite his sword or use fire-based attacks easily, he can ignite the Phoenix Feather flechettes that he carries on him rather easily due to their small size. A technique copied from ninja and their kunai techniques, Star throws a volley of now aflame Phoenix Feathers at an enemy.
(Hariken)/(Hurricane/Needle Sword)

Antares: Star overclocks his thermokinesis and his entire body glows red. In this form, he emits ridiculous amounts of heat and anything touching him will be more than likely melted. This "form" is the only time Stardust will attempt hand to hand combat without any of his weapons. Even with his natural heat resistance however, this puts a lot of stress on his body and is not something that he can afford to abuse.
(Akai Suisei)/(Red Comet)

Polaris-α (Polaris Alpha): The signature attack of the Kazehana Style and the Stardust Style. Stardust slashes at his opponent with a simple strike from a distance while drawing his blade in a single motion, the wind generated from the motion sends a shockwave through the air that strikes the opponent just as the blade itself would have. This technique is the most basic of Star's repoirtoire and the foundation of many of his attacks. Draw Charge: 1
(Harukaze)/(Spring Breeze)

Polaris-β (Polaris Beta): A variant and sister technique of Star's signature attack. While the alpha version of Polaris is an attack that utilizes destructive force against adversaries, the beta variation has the user draw inward from the spring of their own life energy or ki to revitalize a target. While the move is performed with the exact same motion as the alpha form, the essence of the move is entirely different. Draw Charge: 1
(Akikaze)/(Autumn Breeze)

Acrux: A further modification that can utilize either of the Polaris techniques. When using Acrux, instead of sheathing his blade after the initial draw, Star will perform a second slash almost instantly after the first, overlapping the two attacks in an x-shaped formation. Acrux has roughly 2.5 times the power of Polaris but travels slower and the additional start-up of the attack could leave Stardust vulnerable against a particularly fast opponent. Draw Charge: 1
(Yokokaze)/(Cross Winds)

Canopus: An attack that Stardust learned after Middy taught him how to utilize a very, very basic concept of magic. Star fires an attack similar to Polaris but formed by non-elemental magic instead of either air or ki. It's a fairly weak attack that's far less sharp but offers a viable option when Star cannot fall back on his primary offenses in places without movement of air. Draw Charge: 2 (Zanmahou)/(Magic Chopper)

Kentaurus: Stardust utilizes a slashing attack by drawing his sword while rushing towards an enemy instead of in a stationary position. The wind generated from combination of movement and drawing the blade creates a slipstream that lasts a few seconds that allows those who move through the path that Star went previously to move at an accelerated rate and cover far more ground at a far faster rate for a strong followup attack. It can also be used to increase the speed of projectiles traveling through the slipstream. Draw Charge: 1
(Oikaze)/(Tailwind)

Deneb: Star draws his blade only partly while still holding the half-sheathed blade, he holds the sword above his head in a way that light will shine from the blade into his opponent's eyes, temporarily blinding an enemy. While the opponent is momentary deprived of their sense of sight, he finishes drawing in an overhead slash that sends a large burst of air directly at the opponent knocking them backwards and possibly incapacitating them. Draw Charge: 1
(Shiraha Issen)/(White Feather Flash)

Capella-α (Capella Alpha): Another attack of both the Kazehana Style and the Stardust Style though this one is not aimed directly at the opponent. Stardust slams his sword into the ground immediately after drawing it. This causes the gust generated by the slash to pick up small debris on the ground, carrying it in a straight line towards the target at a high velocity as makeshift bullets of a sort. Draw Charge: 1
(Nagaredama)/(Stray Bullets)

Capella-β (Capella Beta): A variation of Capella where instead of firing the debris, Star creates a momentary vacuum around him that absorbs the debris and creates a type of barrier that can be released to send debris bullets in a complete 360 degree radius. Draw Charge: 1
(Chiri no Tensei)/(Dust Angel)

Regulus: When Stardust re-sheathes his blade, he can generate a wave of thunder/a sonic boom from the heat stored in the sheath that can incapacitate enemies near him. While not a particularly strong attack, it is a very effective technical maneuver that can disorient and disturb an opponent's offensive.
(Raion)/(Thunderclap)

Mizar: Stardust draws his sword and slashes at a projectile approaching him. The projectile is knocked away and the wind generated from the deflection creates an air field in front of Star that automatically deflects other incoming projectile attacks for a few seconds after the initial technique usage. Any enemy that gets near Stardust while the air field is active will find their body covered in multiple scratches and cut wounds. Draw Charge: 1
(Zettai Arashi)/(Absolute Storm)

Procyon: Stardust charges thermal energy into his sword while it is sheathed but does not use the stored energy to attack right away. Instead, he moves in close to his opponent and then draws his sword. The energy charged into the sword is released when it is drawn and creates an explosion that knocks Stardust and his opponent back. This attack is a double-edged sword since Stardust must be caught in the explosion himself just to use it. Draw Charge: 2
(Hibakusha)/(Explosion Survivor)

Fomalhaut: Star can drop the temperature of his body to flash freeze a liquid near the palm of his hand and shape it into a snowflake-like projectile. The shuriken created by this technique still retain the properties of whatever liquid was utilized to create them.
(Sekka Shuriken)/(Snowflake Suriken)

Alcor: Following an attack, the user bends the air around their self in such a way that light is refracted off of it, making the user appear that they've vanished or turn invisible where they stand. However, as soon as the user makes a movement, the technique is broken and their location is revealed making this technique ultimately useful more to cause confusion or draw time than as an assassination maneuver.
(Tengu no Kakuremino)/(Magic Cloak of the Tengu)

Castor: Stardust is able to create perfect afterimages (only one at a time however) of himself through manipulating his body's temperature and the temperature of the air directly around him. These afterimages are a perfect reflection of Stardust himself and are completely in sync with his movements.
(Kyouka Suigetsu)/(Mirror Flower Water Moon)

Pollux: Technically a variant of Castor but the technique is given its own name. Stardust creates multiple afterimages at the same time (up to 10) but each of these appear to be deformed or have exaggerted proportions compared to the real Stardust and their movements seem to be completely out of time with his own and each other.
(Kyouka Suigetsu- Mugen)(Mirror Flower Water Moon- Infinity)

Wezen- Stardust's attempt to replicate the techniques of the Iwadori-style, a sister style to the Kazehana-style. Only usable from a great distance in the air, Star falls with his sword drawn and let's gravity increase the power of his strike as he lands on an opponent, completely destroying them.
(Ryushini no Ken)/(Sword of Dragon-Killing)

Spica-α (Spica Alpha): Star can generate lightning inside his sheathe by storing enough heat and have it follow the trail of his slash's trajectory. Draw Charge: 2
(Tenken)/(Heavenly Sword)

Spica-β (Spica Beta): A variant of Spica where Stardust uses his sword as a lightning rod instead of firing the generated lightning towards an opponent by drawing the sword very slowly from its sheath. The lightning lasts for a few moments and grants electrical properties to his other air-based attacks while still in effect. Draw Charge: 2
(Shiden)/(Violet Lightning)

Shaula: A thrusting attack designed to be used against opponents who are immune to cutting damage. Stardust pulls his sword back, pointed towards his opponent. He holds this position for a short time and air is collected near the tip of the sword's blade. He then thrusts towards his opponent who is struck by a focused concussive burst of wind that burrows into their body like a drill.
(Shippukiri)/(Gale Drill)

Rigel: A counterattack specifically designed to be used against other swordsmen or melee/slash/cut-based weapon users. Stardust counters an opponent's attack with a slash from his sword in his dominant hand, knocking the opponent off balance while he moves himself close into their "personal bubble". While close to the opponent, he holds the sheath of his blade in his off-hand and strikes either the opponent's sword arm, attempting to shatter their wrist and prevent them from striking back or delivers a strong blow to the ribs, hopefully breaking them and impeding his enemy's assault.
(Furinkazan)/(Wind, Forest, Fire, Mountain)

Altair: An attack created by Stardust as a complete re-envisioning of his master's ultimate technique. The original Chidori was a technique that costs the user their life but gave them speed beyond compare. Stardust has re-envisioned the technique into a single attack that bombards the opponent over a thousand times with one strike. Stardust unsheathes his blade and a fierce gust is unleashed from his movement, this gust actually contains thousands of invisible air blades all fired in unison at the opponent, who is shredded instantly. Since this version of the Chidori utilizes less energy than the original version and the speed is in the attack and not the user, this version does not entirely deplete the user's lifespan. However, this technique puts a tremendous strain on the user's body. Draw Charge: 3
(Chidori Yagyou- Tachikaze)/(Night Parade of a Thousand Birds- Cutting Wind)

Sirius: Stardust channels his heat into his sword while it is still sheathed for a long period of time. Due to how much heat and light have accumulated in the actual sword, the blade becomes essentially a star itself, hot enough to cut through and incinerate nearly anything. Stardust must attack immediately upon drawing the blade for this attack before it cools down, he has a very small period for this and due to the time that the attack takes to prepare, along with the fact that charging for it renders essentially all his other sword techniques unusable, he absolutely cannot afford to miss with this technique. This is the finalized version of several of his previous techniques. Draw Charge: 3
(Dairyuusei Kasouretsu Iaigiri)/(Great Shooting Star Violent Cremation Slicer)

Vega: A technique where Star creates a wall of air in front of him that pushes back any opponent or projectile that tries to approach him. Only wind or air-based techniques can cross Vega's defense. While an impressive defensive technique, it takes a moment to prepare. Draw Charge: 2

Nemesis: An attack born from the infinite pain cast onto Stardust by Penance. It appears the same as Polaris but the power is far greater, the damage done by Nemesis will continue to spread throughout an enemy's body until they are completely destroyed. To perform this technique, Star must draw into the pain he took into himself, this causes the muscles and bones in his dominant arm to deteriorate and break. Draw Charge: 3
